Raúl Allegre, an 11-year NFL veteran, served as analyst for ESPN Deportes’ Sunday Night Football. Fall 2006, Allegre assumed a similar analyst role on ESPN Deportes’ Monday Night Football, where he works alongside play-by-play commentator Álvaro Martín and sideline reporter John Sutcliffe. He also co-hosts NFL Semanal, ESPN Deportes’ weekly NFL studio show. A native of Mexico, Allegre attended the University of Montana on a football scholarship, later transferring to the University of Texas. He began his NFL kicking career in 1982 with the Baltimore Colts and later won two Super Bowls as a member of the New York Giants. After his retirement from the NFL in 1993, Allegre became the executive producer, creator, and host of Super Show Deportivo, a 30-minute NFL show in Spanish produced for NFL Films. Over the next few years, he worked as a radio commentator for Texas Longhorns Football and in 1996, Allegre became the executive producer of the Dallas Cowboys Spanish-language television broadcasts, which included pre-game and post-game shows. -30- |
