The start of the 2009-10 schedule on ESPN and ESPN2 will include more than 50 games, including matchups from the ACC, BIG EAST, Big 12 and Big Ten conferences. Prior to the first tip of the season, ESPN will televise College GameDay Season Preview Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 8 p.m. ET. Highlights:

NASCAR
ABC will broadcast live races each Sunday in November from the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. from Talladega, Ala.; Nov. 8 at 3:15 p.m. from Ft. Worth, Texas; Nov. 15 at 3:15 p.m. from Phoenix; and the season finale Nov. 22 at 3:15 p.m. from Homestead, Fla.
NASCAR Countdown serves as the pre-race program for each race telecast, and ESPN2’s NASCAR news and information program, NASCAR Now, delivers comprehensive coverage of the series and will be aired weekdays at 5 p.m. All programs are produced totally in high definition.
ESPN2 will televise live three Saturday NASCAR Nationwide Series races: Nov. 7 at 12:45 p.m. from Ft. Worth; Nov. 14 at 4:30 p.m. from Phoenix; and Nov. 21 at 4:30 p.m. from Homestead, Fla.

The final rounds of the NHRA Las Vegas Nationals and Automobile Club of Southern California will have same-day coverage on ESPN2 Sunday, Nov. 1, and Sunday, Nov. 15, respectively. Both at 7 p.m.

NFL
The 40th season of Monday Night Football continues into November with five great games on ESPN. Leading up to every MNF is Monday Night Countdown from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday NFL Countdown also airs each week from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on ESPN in preparation for Sunday’s games. MNF games air each week at 8:30 p.m.
- 2008 rookie quarterback sensation Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons clash with the NFL’s leading passer Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints at the Louisiana Superdome (Nov. 2);
- Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers at the Denver Broncos (Nov. 9);
- Ray Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens – who reached the AFC Championship last season – at the Cleveland Browns (Nov. 16);
- Quarterback Kerry Collins and the defending AFC South champion Tennessee Titans face the NFL’s leading wide receiver Andre Johnson and the upstart Houston Texans (Nov. 23);

COLLEGE
ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC combine for more than 40 live college football games in November. ABC will show two games every Saturday, with games on ESPN and ESPN2 at noon. ABC and ESPN will also show games on all five Saturdays at 3:30 p.m. In addition to a weekly Friday primetime series on ESPN or ESPN2, the networks will offer games on select Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays throughout the month.
ESPN will continue its weekly schedule of Thursday primetime games featuring top matchups featuring:
- ACC power Virginia Tech heads down to BCS-buster candidate Eastern Carolina on Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
- Also slated for the Thursday night lineup, South Florida’s solid offense, with senior quarterback Matt Grothe, will visit Rutgers on Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
- Big 12 North contender Colorado faces Oklahoma State on Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
- For the second year, the Big 12 returns to Thursday in prime time, highlighted by Texas at Texas A&M on Thanksgiving night, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m.

ESPN’s multimedia coverage of the 2009-10 NBA regular season will continue in November, highlighted by a rematch of both the Eastern and Western Conference Finals – Denver vs. L.A. Lakers (Friday, Nov. 13, at 10:30 p.m.) and Cleveland vs. Orlando (Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 8 p.m.).

Matchups for the 2009 Jimmy V Women’s and Men’s Basketball Classics on December 7 and 8, respectively, two early-season college basketball events showcasing top programs on ESPN and ESPN2, have been determined with proceeds from each event benefiting The V Foundation for Cancer Research. The women’s game, held at Rutgers University in Piscataway, N.J., for the fourth consecutive year, will feature Florida vs. Rutgers at 7 p.m. on ESPN2. The men’s doubleheader, held at the famed Madison Square Garden for the seventh consecutive event, will pit Butler vs. Georgetown at 7 p.m. and Indiana vs. Pittsburgh at 9 p.m., both on ESPN.

NBA
ESPN Deportes will continue its coverage of the 2009-10 NBA season with three games in December. The L.A. Clippers visit the N.Y. Knicks on Fri., Dec. 18, at 8 p.m. and a Christmas Day doubleheader featuring the Miami Heat facing the N.Y. Knicks at noon, followed by the L.A. Clippers taking on the Phoenix Suns later that evening at 8 p.m.

Coverage of the 2009 Monday Night Football season will continue with four games in December. Each game will be preceded by a 30-minute live studio show; NFL Esta Noche.

WINTER X GAMES 14
The Winter X Games, the premier winter action sports event in the world, will be held January 29-31, 2010, from Aspen/Snowmass, Colo. The annual event features athletes from across the globe competing for medals and prize money in the following sports: Skiing, Snowboard and Snowmobile. All Winter X Games competitions will take place at the resort’s Buttermilk Mountain. Winter X Games 14 will air live nightly on ESPN and ESPN2.
- Winter X Games Classix, featuring highlights from some of the best performances in the history of Winter X Games, Wednesday, Jan. 6, - Thursday, Jan. 14, generally at 2 a.m. on ESPN2.
- The most up-to-date news and information surrounding that day’s Winter X Games 14 events will be available during X Center, January 29 at 1a.m., January 30 and 31 at 12 a.m., and January 31 at 10 p.m.
TENNIS
The Australian Open, tennis' first Grand Slam of the year, will begin Sunday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m. on ESPN2, with daily, extensive coverage totaling at least xxx hours and continuing through the women's (Saturday, Jan. 30, at 3:30 a.m.) and men's (Sunday, Jan. 31, at 3:30 a.m.) finals.

ESPN’s ten game schedule in January will include weekly NBA Wednesday and NBA Friday games, in addition to a NBA Special Edition games on Sunday, Jan. 10, at 10:30 p.m. when the L.A. Clippers host the L.A. Lakers and on Sunday, Jan. 17, at 9 p.m. when the Utah Jazz visit the Denver Nuggets. Highlights:
- Two appearances by defending 2009 NBA Champions Los Angeles Lakers and Kobe Bryant: at L.A. Clippers, Wed., Jan. 6, at 10:30 p.m. and vs. N.Y. Knicks, Fri., Jan. 22, at 8 p.m.;

College GameDay
The college basketball version of the popular College GameDay football series – featuring two one-hour shows each Saturday, at 11 a.m. and generally at 8 p.m. -- will originate from the site of the Saturday Primetime game for eight consecutive weeks and will generally be presented from inside or around the arena. The season will tip off in Storrs, Conn., Saturday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m., site of the BIG EAST women’s showdown between the UConn and Notre Dame, at 9 p.m. on ESPN.

- ABC will televise two New Year’s Day bowl games (Friday, Jan. 1) - the Capital One Bowl at 1 p.m. and the Rose Bowl Game Presented by Citi at 5 p.m. -- and the Citi BCS National Championship Game on Thursday, Jan. 7, at 8:30 p.m.

ESPN2’s Big Monday presented by Bud Light prime-time Game of the Week series will continue in February with doubleheaders on Feb. 15 (North Carolina vs. Virginia and Connecticut vs. Oklahoma) and Feb. 22 (LSU vs. Tennessee and Baylor vs. Texas A&M) at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
February Frenzy
February Frenzy returns on Valentine’s Day, Sunday, Feb. 14, as ESPN2 showcases six regionalized games within two telecast windows. For a third year in a row, ESPN will support the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund, in partnership with The V Foundation, during its annual “February Frenzy” women's college basketball games. The full national ESPNU women’s game, Kentucky at Vanderbilt at 6 p.m. on Feb. 14 will also be part of the “Frenzy,” as will Big Monday doubleheader on Feb. 15 showcasing North Carolina at Virginia at 7 p.m. and Connecticut at Oklahoma at 9 p.m.
