ESPN Deportes Radio to Be the First and Only Spanish Language Sports Station in AlbuquerqueESPN Deportes Radio, the only around-the-clock national Spanish-language sports radio network in the U.S., will launch in Albuquerque, New Mexico as ESPN Deportes KBZU-FM 96.3 FM on Monday, August 4 With this launch, ESPN Deportes Radio has now secured agreements in Miami, Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia and Oklahoma City so far this year. “We are very excited to reach sports fans in Albuquerque,” said Oscar Ramos, senior director and general manager, ESPN Deportes Radio. “This is yet another step toward our goal of reaching emerging Hispanic audiences and offering them original, high-quality sports content unlike any other.” “The excellent Spanish-language sports programming from ESPN Deportes Radio will be an exciting addition to Albuquerque’s choices for quality sports programming. KBZU-FM can be heard throughout central New Mexico from Socorro to Las Vegas and Gallup to Tucumcari,” said KBZU Manager, Jeff Berry. ”The Hispanic and sports community is going to love the additional choice of ESPN Deportes Radio at 96.3 on the FM dial.” ESPN Deportes Radio offers a variety of sports talk programming and events, highlighted by coverage of Major League Baseball, Mexican League Soccer, Copa America, UEFA Champions League, Euro Cup, South American World Cup Qualifiers, NASCAR and much more. As with other properties, ESPN Deportes Radio has a series of expert commentators and top-rated shows including “Jorge Ramos y su Banda,” which provides soccer analysis from the most respected sports journalists in the U.S. Hosted by David Faitelson and Rafael Ramos, “Raza Deportiva” covers the latest sports information and news; “ESPN al Despertar” is the morning drive show; and “A los Golpes” offers weeknight listeners a fast-paced overview of the latest boxing news. Since its launch, ESPN Deportes Radio has achieved significant milestones in the Spanish-language radio industry. In Los Angeles, the nation’s largest Hispanic market, ESPN Deportes Radio flagship station KWKW 1330 AM has enjoyed a remarkable growth in audience since launching as ESPN Deportes Radio in 2005. Less than a month ago, ESPN Deportes successfully launched Miami’s 1450 AM, making this its second affiliate to commence within one month. ESPN Deportes Radio now has 27 affiliates nationwide, including Albuquerque, of which nine are in the top U.S. Hispanic markets. The radio network is also available nationally on SIRUS Satellite Radio.
