ESPN to Host First Golf and Poker Academy

ESPN Golf Schools Presented by American Express, in conjunction with the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Academy, announced today the addition of their first golf and poker program, - The Golf and Poker Academy.  Hosted at the Primm Valley Golf Club and Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV, the Golf and Poker Academy will be held October 30 - November 2, 2008. 

The four day academy will provide a comprehensive instructional program for all skill levels.  

Program highlights include:

  • On-site video analysis of participants golf swing complete with instructors' comments and computer-generated graphics
  • Full swing, chipping and pitching, and putting
  • 18-hole shotgun golf tournament at Primm Valley Golf Club
  • Poker instruction by WSOP professionals including 2004 WSOP Main Event Champion Greg Raymer
  • Poker seminars covering a wide range of No Limit Hold'em curriculum
  • Live hand analysis where poker instructors will lead small groups of 9 attendees and dissect the hands
  • Two private poker tournaments where attendees will compete for seats in WSOP tournaments

 

The ESPN Golf School is a comprehensive, instructional program emphasizing all aspects of the game. Participants will be divided into groups and rotated through three different stations addressing full swing, chipping and pitching, and putting

The WSOP Academy puts emphasis on poker education and interaction with the pros and fellow attendees. Participants will learn poker skills, strategies and applications through live hand demonstrations, seminars with Q & A, and tournaments. Lead instructor Greg Raymer (2004 WSOP Main Event Champion) Alex Outhred and poker tells expert Joe Navarro FBI ret. (leader in non verbal communication/reads/tells) are confirmed for this event.
