“Rundown” of What Weekday Live SportsCenter Could Present

 

With the launch of a six-hour block of live programming (9 a.m.-3 p.m. ET), SportsCenter will present the latest breaking news, provide in-depth analysis of the previous night’s events, cover the day’s press conferences and secure interviews with topical newsmakers, as well as preview that night’s games.

A “rundown” of the 9 a.m.-noon block co-anchored by Hannah Storm and Josh Elliott could look something like this (based on the events of Thursday, July 31, the date of Major League Baseball’s trading deadline):

 9 a.m.              

  • Elliott presents latest on the Ken Griffey, Jr. possible trade to the White Sox.
  • ESPN MLB Insider Jason Stark presents his insight into Girffey-to-White Sox, and updates the Manny Ramirez out-of-Boston possibility.
  • Storm updates the Team USA basketball game being played during SportsCenter.
  • Storm presents the latest on the Brett Favre/Packers situation.

  • ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder presents his insight into Favre’s possible reinstatement.

10 a.m.  

  • Elliott updates the Griffey trade possibility.

  • Trey Wingo, hosting ESPN’s coverage of Saturday’s Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony, reports live from Canton, Ohio.
