Serving millions of viewers each day, ESPN’s SportsCenter program has grown into a worldwide multi-media brand and become a global destination for sports news and information. Launched in September of 1979, it is ESPN’s most significant programming commitment with multiple live presentations on numerous media platforms every day around the world including content on television, radio, online, cell phones and more. Starting Monday, Aug. 11, the program will significantly increase its live offerings in the U.S. with a new schedule of live shows weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET. The new six-hour block of live SportsCenters will feature two teams of two main show anchors, an update anchor, and production personnel split into three-hour shifts. Shows will generally reset every hour and SportsCenter Right Now updates will be presented every 20 minutes throughout the block. Hannah Storm will team with Josh Elliott for the first three hours, while Robert Flores and Chris McKendry will anchor the second three-hour block. Sage Steele will present the SportsCenter updates every 20 minutes. Including the numerous international editions, SportsCenter features more than 80 anchors, delivering sports news and information to 136 different countries/territories and in eight languages each day. Following are some thoughts from the men and women who anchor various versions of SportsCenter, in the U.S. and around the world, about what sets SportsCenter apart with their audience.
