Alex Faust

Play-by-Play Commentator, ESPNU

Alex Faust has been a college football and basketball play-by-play commentator for ESPNU since 2015.

Prior to joining the worldwide leader, Faust served as a radio broadcaster for AHL’s Utica Comets and called the first game in franchise history. In 2015, he was an ‘Inside the Glass’ reporter for the AHL All-Star Game.

In addition, Alex served as the voice of Northeastern University men’s basketball from 2013 to 2016, broadcasting the team’s first conference championship in more than two decades, and at age 26, he became one of the youngest commentators to ever work an NCAA tournament game.

His experience also includes work with NESN, Sports USA Radio and the Staten Island Yankees.

Recognized as an up-and-coming talent in the sports broadcasting world, Alex won the Jim Nantz Award as a college junior in 2011, which is presented annually to the nation’s top collegiate sports broadcaster.

A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Alex graduated from Northeastern University in 2012 with a degree in political science and economics, including recognition as a Hansard Scholar by the London School of Economics. He currently resides in Avon, Connecticut.
