Claudia Trejos joined ESPN’s commentary team in 2007 as a boxing commentator, sideline reporter for ESPN Deportes’ coverage of the NASCAR Busch Series; onsite reporter for X Games 13, serving as co-host for the ESPY Red Carpet show and ESPN Deportes’ coverage of dominoes. She left in 2010 and returned in 2014 as host of ESPN’s Friday Night Fights and NBA.
Prior to joining ESPN, Trejos worked at Telemundo Network as sports anchor for “Al Rojo Vivo con María Celeste,” Telemundo’s nightly one-hour news magazine show. She also co-hosted NBA Max, the network’s NBA highlights show, where she was the first female color-commentator in the league’s history. Trejos also provided commentary for the WNBA. Before Telemundo, Trejos worked KTLA-TV 5 in Los Angeles, where she served as sports anchor for the weekend news and sports reporter for the weekday evening news. In addition, Trejos anchored Contacto Deportivo on Univision Sports and Telefutura as well as play-by-play for Solo Boxeo, and co-produced and hosted Contra las Cuerdas. For Showtime Championship boxing she hosted the Weigh-ins on Show Stream Live. For Univision, she produced pregame and halftime features for World Cup South Africa 2010.
Prior to KTLA, Trejos served as sports director and boxing commentator for KWHY-TV in Los Angeles. She began her broadcasting career at Fox Sports Americas in 1994 as production coordinator. She also has performed roles in the movie “Resurrection Blvd” and on the hit CBS soap opera, “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
A native of Colombia, Trejos is considered one of the most respected Spanish-language sportscasters in sports television.
