David Coletti

Vice President, Media Intelligence, ESPN

David Coletti is ESPN’s vice president, media intelligence. Coletti leads a team responsible for providing strategic insights about ESPN’s television and digital performance across platforms, including network ratings, streaming viewership, and web & app usage.  The team is also focused on sharing intelligence about content distribution, audience behavior, technology adoption, social media impact, the competitive landscape and evolving marketplace trends.

Coletti’s team works closely with groups across ESPN, including affiliate, communications, finance, programming, ad sales, marketing and digital media.  Working in collaboration with stakeholders, their findings influence how ESPN builds, designs, programs, markets, distributes and sells its properties.

Coletti’s takes on media have appeared in such publications as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Hollywood Reporter, AdAge, New York Post, Sports Business Journal, Multichannel News and Media Post.

Coletti is a member of the Board of Directors of the Media Rating Council, and serves on the research committees of the Interactive Advertising Bureau and Digital Content Next. He is a regular speaker at media and digital industry events. Coletti was named a ‘Digital All-Star’ by Broadcasting & Cable.

Coletti joined ESPN in 1998 as a sales research analyst and helped transition a group that was focused solely on TV into a unit with cross-functional, multimedia research expertise which supported TV, online, mobile, print and radio sales.  Prior to his current role he served as Vice President, Digital Media Research & Analytics where he oversaw measurement design & implementation, reporting & analysis, and analytics data strategy for ESPN’s digital properties around the globe.  Before he joined ESPN Coletti worked for TeleRep as a senior research analyst and for WUTR-TV as an account executive.

Hailing from Foxboro, Massachusetts, Coletti received a Bachelor of Science degree in Television, Radio and Film Management in 1995 from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.  As an undergrad at Syracuse he directed the ‘Sour Sitrus Society’ basketball pep band and spent one unforgettable summer working as ‘Scooch’, the fun-loving mascot of the Syracuse Chiefs AAA baseball team.
