Play-by-Play Commentator, ESPNU

Eric Clemons is a college football play-by-play commentator on ESPNU, calling Thursday night games alongside analyst Jay Walker.

A 30-year veteran broadcaster, Clemons began his career in local television in Mobile, Ala. with WALA-TV in 1984. From there, he went on to work on ESPN’s flagship program SportsCenter from 1987 – 1991, covering Mike Tyson’s heavyweight title reign and Michael Jordan’s first NBA title with the Chicago Bulls. Clemons also worked for WHDH-TV in Boston, FOX, FOX Sports Network, WFSB-TV in Hartford and WVUE-TV in New Orleans, as well as BET, where he called the network’s final season of HBCU college football coverage.

Clemons has covered almost every major sporting event, and has worked to offer advice and help to those in his path, befriending many along the way. A die-hard Chicago sports fan, he enjoys spending time with his wife of more than 30 years, Renita, and their two children.
