Dave Flemming joined ESPN as a play-by-play commentator for college basketball in 2010. In addition, he has since become a regular voice on the network’s baseball and football coverage.
Beginning in the 2016 season, Flemming provided play-by-play commentary for the Thursday night college football games with analyst Jesse Palmer and reporter Laura Rutledge. Prior to that he was the voice of college football Friday telecasts since 2014. Flemming’s play-by-play duties for ESPN have grown to include baseball as well. He has called televised Major League Baseball games for the network since 2014 and in 2016 he was named to the Monday Night Baseball team. He has also been involved with Little League World Series coverage since 2013.
In addition to his ESPN responsibilities, in the spring of 2017 he will begin his fourteenth year as an on-air voice for the San Francisco Giants on KNBR-AM radio broadcasts and select games on television. During his time there he has received two Northern California Emmys for his play-by-play commentary. In 2008, Flemming was also named the best of the new generation of baseball announcers by the Sports Business Journal.
Flemming handled the radio play-by-play duties for Stanford football for six season, and has served as a substitute announcer on Golden State Warriors radio broadcasts.
The Alexandria, Va. Native, who resides in San Francisco, received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Stanford, and a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University.
