John Brickley

ESPN Radio Studio Host & Play-by-Play Announcer

John Brickley joined ESPN in 2011 as a SportsCenter update anchor and remote studio host on ESPN Radio, a play-by-play announcer and studio television anchor. He currently serves as a studio host for Baseball Tonight, NBA Countdown, College Football Live and SportsCenter AllNight on ESPN Radio. Brickley also serves as a studio host for ESPN’s TV coverage of MLB and college basketball, and works as an ESPN Digital studio anchor and voice-over talent. In addition, John has served as a play-by-play announcer and sideline reporter for college basketball, football and lacrosse on various platforms. He has called the Division I Women’s National Lacrosse Championships in 2016 and 2017, the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship and the 2015 NEC Men’s Basketball Championship title game.

Prior to ESPN, Brickley worked at WFSB-TV, the CBS affiliate in Hartford, Conn., as an anchor for the weekend sportscasts, as well as the host of Sports Sunday and Friday Night Football, covering Connecticut’s major sports news.

Brickley also worked for MSG Varsity Network as a studio anchor covering high school athletics in the Hudson Valley and Connecticut regions. Brickley’s broadcasting career began in Ephrata, Pa., as the sports director for Blue Ridge Communications Cable 11. Brickley was honored with a Telly Award for “Best Program Feature” for his commitment to high school football coverage.

A native of West Hartford, Conn., Brickley graduated from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism calling the Pirates run to the NCAA Tournament in 2006 for 89.5 FM WSOU.
