Kimberly K. Wilson

Vice President, Affiliate Marketing, Disney and ESPN Media Networks

A 14-year marketing veteran, Kimberly K. Wilson currently serves as Vice President, Affiliate Marketing for Disney and ESPN Media Networks. Before taking on this role in 2013, Wilson was Senior Director, Affiliate Sales and Marketing where for three years she led marketing efforts for Satellite, Telco and Digital Video Distribution partners of The Walt Disney Company. In her current capacity, she identifies and develops innovative and cutting-edge marketing strategies designed to drive the organization’s distribution goals. Her current team focuses on cable and digital video distribution, as well as the ESPN brand portfolio, e.g. ESPN, ESPN Deportes, SEC Network, etc. Wilson also manages a multi-million dollar budget and leads a team of 11 industry-leading marketers.

Prior to joining The Walt Disney Company in 2005, Kimberly served as Director of Marketing for Clear Channel Radio New Orleans. She was responsible for the development and execution of all marketing, promotions, and community affairs efforts for Clear Channel’s seven-station cluster. There, she increased revenue by 20% via breakthrough events such as Crescent City Idol and New Faces of Country. Before moving to New Orleans in 2003, Kimberly worked as Affiliate Sales Manager for Black Entertainment Television where she was responsible for increasing distribution of BET Networks within the Central region. While at BET, Kimberly managed a 16-state territory where she focused on both digital distribution and local ad sales. She consistently over-delivered her annual goals while driving strong affiliate engagement/support for 106th and Park, 1st Annual BET Awards and Black College Football.

In 2003, Kimberly served as an Affiliate Sales Consultant with MBC Cable Network founded by attorney Willie Gary, boxing great Evander Holyfield and Marlon Jackson of the Jackson Five. In her capacity, she was responsible for increasing distribution for MBC Networks and served as liaison between MBC and cable operators. Immediately after, she was a marketing consultant for Clear Channel Radio Chicago where she worked closely with the Marketing and Promotions team to drive listener engagement and advertiser value across the cluster of stations.

Kimberly’s professional affiliations include membership and mentor in the National Association of Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC), Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT), and National Black MBA Association. She is a graduate of NAMIC’s Executive Leadership Development Program at Darden (ELDP), Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation and recipient of ESPN’s Leadership Award in Marketing in 2006 and 2013.

Kimberly is a native of Chicago, Illinois. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Columbia College of Chicago and earned a Masters Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University where she graduated with honors. She’s a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Inc. and spends much of her spare time mentoring young up-and-comers, speaking on panels and traveling.
