Lisa Stancati

ASSISTANT CHIEF COUNSEL

Lisa Stancati is an Assistant Chief Counsel at ESPN counseling various business units on ESPN’s contractual rights, intellectual property issues and other legal issues impacting ESPN’s digital initiatives including social media, online advertising, privacy and piracy.

Prior to joining ESPN in 2004, Stancati was Associate Counsel for the National Hockey League. She also served as Executive Director for the Women’s Professional Billiard Association from 1999-2001. Stancati practiced law with Mayer Brown & Platt, Gordon Altman, et al., Sills Cummis, et al., and Tanner Propp & Fresko after graduating in the top 10 percent at St. John’s University School of Law in 1992.

At St. John’s, Stancati served as the Notes & Comments editor for the St. John’s Law Review and was on the Deans’ List each year from 1988-1992. She was named 2007 Sports Counsel of the Year by the Association of Media & Entertainment Counsel and she is a lifetime member of Cambridge Who’s Who.

Stancati received a bachelor of science degree from St. John’s University in 1985 with a major in Legal Assistance.
