Play-by-Play Announcer/Reporter

Eamon McAnaney joined ESPN in January 2006, working various collegiate events as a play-by-play announcer and reporter. He is a play-by-play announcer for college football, men’s basketball and men’s lacrosse. Additionally, he has called the last two Men’s Lacrosse National Championships. In his time at ESPN, he has worked numerous bowl games.

McAnaney began his career in television working as a producer at ESPN in Bristol and New York City from 1994-2000. He transitioned over as a sports reporter and anchor in 2001 with News 12 (N.Y., N.J., Conn). McAnaney has also held similar positions with MSG Network, NBA TV and TNT Sports. He still sees time on SportsNet New York as a studio host on several shows.

A 1991 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor’s degree in American studies, McAnaney was a four-year letter winner and captain in 1991 on men’s lacrosse as a defenseman.
