Raphael Poplock serves as Vice President of Partnerships for ESPN. In this role, he leads a team that oversees the vision, priorities and strategy for ESPN’s global partnerships.
Poplock’s day-to-day responsibilities include sourcing, negotiating and managing ESPN’s relationships with social media and other content distributors like Facebook, Google, Snapchat, Twitter and more as well as platform partners like Microsoft, Samsung, Amazon and others; business development and operations for ESPN sites that include FiveThirtyEight, The Undefeated, ESPN FC and ESPNcricinfo; and identifying gaming opportunities in Fantasy, Esports and ESPN’s long-standing relationship with EA SPORTS. From a broader business strategy standpoint, Poplock works closely with Ad Sales, Affiliate Sales & Marketing, Digital & Print Media and Global Strategy groups across The Walt Disney Company to drive incremental revenue and profitability for ESPN’s content businesses.
He joined ESPN in November 2003 as a financial analyst for ESPN Enterprises. Prior to ESPN, he worked for Broadview International, a subsidiary of Jeffries & Co., as a Mergers and Acquisition senior analyst involved in all aspects of transaction development.
Poplock received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a concentration in Business Management from Cornell University. He resides in New York with his wife and daughters.
