Raphael Poplock is ESPN’s Vice President of Games and Partnerships for ESPN. In this role, he guides the overall vision, priorities and strategy for all of ESPN’s games businesses, including its multi-year relationships with EA SPORTS, Microsoft Xbox and other console partners; online and mobile casual games. He also oversees new revenue-driving activities across Digital Media products – including video, WatchESPN and social media – global partnership management and business development for ESPN. Based in ESPN’s New York office, Poplock reports directly to Marie Donoghue, Executive Vice President, Global Strategy & Original Content, ESPN.
Poplock’s day-to-day games responsibilities include overseeing all new game development concepts across console, social and casual platforms, as well as the incorporation of game assets across ESPN properties. From a broader business development standpoint, Poplock works closely with ESPN’s Ad Sales, Affiliate Sales & Marketing, and Social Media groups to drive incremental revenues and profitability for other content businesses.
Poplock joined ESPN in November 2003 as a financial analyst for ESPN Enterprises. Prior to ESPN, he worked for Broadview International, a subsidiary of Jeffries & Co., as a Mergers and Acquisition senior analyst involved in all aspects of transaction development.
Poplock received a Bachelor of Science in Communication with a concentration in Business Management from Cornell. He resides in New York with his wife and daughters.
