Reese Waters contributes his comedic talents as a SportsCenter correspondent, charged with providing the humorous side of sports-related stories across all ESPN platforms.
“I find sports fan fanatics to be an undermined treasure of comedy gold,” says Waters. “I’ve never been to a game or an event and not left with a great story that had nothing to do with the game, and now I can present those stories for the entertainment of everyone.”
Waters joined ESPN in May 2012 as host of ESPNU’s Unite, a live, midnight ET show with hosts Danny Kanell, Marianela and DJ Rob Swift.
Prior to joining ESPN on a full-time basis, the New York-based Waters was a sportscaster for The Weather Channel (2014), correspondent for Turner Broadcasting (2013) co-host for Versus’ The Daily Line.
Waters was recognized as one of New York Magazine’s Ten Comedians To Watch in March of 2009 prior to winning the annual Caroline’s Comedy Competition and the Emerging Comics Contest at the New York Underground Comedy Festival. He followed those honors with appearances on MTV, ABC’s Good Morning America, Sirius Satellite Radio and NPR, as well as an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman.
The Maryland native graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelors of Arts Economics in 2002.
