College Basketball Play-by-Play Announcer

Rich Hollenberg is a men’s college basketball play-by-play announcer and studio host at ESPN, joining the company in 2009.

He has been an NFL Network reporter and correspondent for 12 years and also served as the Fox Sports studio host for the Tampa Bay Rays since March 2014.

The New Jersey native began his first job, covering the New Jersey Nets, right after graduating in 1993 from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a bachelor of science degree in broadcast journalism. He then worked at the New York Bureau of the Associated Press before embarking on his television career. Hollenberg’s first experience with ESPN games in the late ‘90’s, when he was a correspondent for Scholastic Sports America and also hosted a number of motorsports events.
