Chuck Salituro is a senior news editor at ESPN and since December of 2014 has served the role of editorial authority for all ESPN/ESPN2 programs reporting to VP Production Marcia Keegan, and for all ESPN Audio programs reporting to SVP Traug Keller. Salituro, who works closely with the production staffs from these two units, guides ESPN’s editorial direction, content and commentary, ensuring that content meets the highest standards of journalism, while emphasizing accuracy, context, and balance.

Salituro serves this role for the television shows First Take, His & Hers, SportsNation, Olbermann, Pardon the Interruption, Around the Horn, Highly Questionable and Outside the Lines and for all ESPN Radio shows based at ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Conn., and radio shows based at ESPN owned and operated radio stations in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Dallas.

In performing this role, Salituro works in conjunction and maintains a strong relationship with the ESPN television and digital news desks.

Previously, as senior news editor beginning in April 2011, Salituro oversaw ESPN’s television news and reporting area. His responsibilities included working directly with ESPN’s INsider reporters on breaking news and developing stories.

Before that, beginning in June 1999, when Salituro was first named a senior news editor, he helped to oversee ESPN’s television news desk.

Salituro joined ESPN in February 1994 as coordinating producer of the assignment desk, responsible for managing daily sports news content used in ESPN’s news and information shows. In August 1996, he was promoted to chief of correspondents and placed in charge of all ESPN news bureau reporters and producers.

Prior to joining ESPN, Salituro was sports editor at The Milwaukee Journal, Wisconsin’s largest newspaper (1989-94), where he also wrote a weekly sports column for two years (1992-94). He served as the paper’s assistant sports editor from 1985-89, and the Green Bay Packers’ beat reporter from 198184. Salituro joined The Journal in 1976 as a sports reporter and sports copy editor after serving as a part-time sports copy editor for the Wisconsin State Journal in Madison.

A native of Kenosha, Wis., Salituro earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1976 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was a sports reporter and later sports editor for one of the university’s two student papers, the Daily Cardinal.
