Men’s College Basketball: ACC/Big Ten Challenge Field includes 14 Teams from the 2016 NCAA Championship
Two teams from the 2016 Final Four – North Carolina and Syracuse – are among the participants in the 18th annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge to be played Monday, Nov. 28 through Wednesday, Nov. 30. The event – in which each conference hosts seven games – matches all 14 Big Ten teams against all but one ACC member. Network assignments and tip times will be announced at a later date.
The matchups for the SEC/Big 12 Challenge presented by Sonic – which will again be staged on a common bye date of Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, during the conference schedule – are headlined by a potential top-10 matchup between No. 4 Kansas at No. 3 Kentucky. The fourth annual event matches all 10 of the Big 12 members against 10 of the 14 programs from the Southeastern Conference. Each conference will host five games with the network assignments and tip times to be announced at a later date.
The University of Connecticut and the University of Texas will play in the 2016 Jimmy V Women’s Classic presented by Corona and hosted by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Sunday, Dec. 4. The annual event, in its 15th year, will be televised from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN.
ESPN’s Saturday tip-off of the 2016 WNBA season delivered the best audience for a WNBA regular-season game on the ESPN networks (excluding ABC) since 2001, with an average of 505,000 viewers.
