ESPN Chicago 1000 Reaches Agreement to become Flagship Station for Notre Dame Football and Men’s Basketball
ESPN Chicago 1000 has reached a multiyear agreement to broadcast every Notre Dame football and men’s basketball game beginning with the 2016-17 seasons.

Basketball Hall of Famer Dick Vitale, one of the sport’s most influential and dynamic personality in the history of sports television, has agreed to a new contract extension with ESPN that will carry through the 2018-19 season. The agreement will add an additional year to his previous extension, announced a year ago today, and will take Vitale, who started with the company in its first year (1979-80), to his 40th on ESPN.

Men’s College Basketball: ACC/Big Ten Challenge Field includes 14 Teams from the 2016 NCAA Championship
Two teams from the 2016 Final Four – North Carolina and Syracuse – are among the participants in the 18th annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge to be played Monday, Nov. 28 through Wednesday, Nov. 30. The event – in which each conference hosts seven games – matches all 14 Big Ten teams against all but one ACC member. Network assignments and tip times will be announced at a later date.
The matchups for the SEC/Big 12 Challenge presented by Sonic – which will again be staged on a common bye date of Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, during the conference schedule – are headlined by a potential top-10 matchup between No. 4 Kansas at No. 3 Kentucky. The fourth annual event matches all 10 of the Big 12 members against 10 of the 14 programs from the Southeastern Conference. Each conference will host five games with the network assignments and tip times to be announced at a later date.

The 22nd annual event will air on ESPN – pitting Purdue against Arizona State at 7 p.m. and Florida vs. Duke at 9 p.m. – will once again be played from New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden.
