ESPN Events Celebrates 11 Top-Seeded Teams Advancing to NCAA Championship from Early-Season Basketball Events
ESPN Events, a division of ESPN, owns and operates 10 early-season men’s basketball events worldwide beginning in November and running through the Christmas holiday.
ESPN’s 2016 Jimmy V Week for Cancer Research celebrated its 10th year and set a new record, raising more than $3.8 million for the V Foundation for Cancer Research – more than $600,000 over last year’s total.
The 2016 matchups for the 13 owned and operated ESPN Events bowl games has been set, kicking off the bowl season on Saturday, Dec. 17, with the Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl, Gildan New Mexico Bowl, Las Vegas Bowl presented by Geico and Raycom Media Camellia Bowl. The games will conclude with the Birmingham Bowl on Thursday, Dec. 29. All games will air on ESPN with the exception of the Celebration Bowl and Las Vegas Bowl, both to be broadcast on ABC.
The 23rd annual event will air on ESPN – pitting UConn against Syracuse and Gonzaga against Villanova – from the New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden. Game times will be announced at a later date.
The fields for the 2017 ESPN Events early-season tournaments include a long-list of elite teams playing worldwide beginning in November and running through the Christmas holiday. ESPN Events, a division of ESPN based in Charlotte, N.C., owns and operates 11 college basketball events.
