ESPN X Games and Xbox will team up to bring Halo 5: Guardians to X Games Aspen 2016 from January 28 – 31, as part of the Halo World Championship Tour, and for the first time-ever, segments and highlights of the esports competition will be integrated into the X Games Aspen telecasts on ESPN.
An additional eight hours of competition will be carried exclusively on ESPN3 as well as the latest coverage across ESPN digital platforms, including XGames.com, the X Games app, and X Games pages across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and more.
X Games Aspen Kick-Off Bash Presented by Woody Creek Distillers Benefitting The V Foundation for Cancer Research and B4BC on January 27
X Games Aspen 2016 will officially kick off with an evening bash in the exclusive X Games Athlete Lounge at Buttermilk Mountain to benefit two causes – The V Foundation for Cancer Research and Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC). Guests will be able to enjoy a cocktail reception in the X Games Athlete Lounge, opened to the public for the first time ever, and will also have a unique opportunity to mix and mingle with X Games athletes, indulge in hosted appetizers, listen to a live performance by HONEYHONEY, and partake in a one-of-a-kind silent auction featuring a photo and art exhibition entitled, “The 20 Most Influential Snowboarding Images of All Time,” curated for B4BC by NEMO Design.
X Games Aspen 2016 will feature four festival villages to offer the most complete youth cultural experience for fans of all ages to enjoy, from January 28 – 31 at Buttermilk Mountain. In addition to witnessing the talents of the world’s best action sports athletes compete for X Games medals and prize money, X Games Aspen will feature a blend of acclaimed musical artists, interactive gaming, athlete meet ‘n greets, giveaways and more fan-friendly activities.
ESPN returns to Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen Snowmass, January 28-31, 2016, for the 15th consecutive year to televise the world’s premier action sports competition with live coverage on ESPN and ABC. The 2016 event will again feature action sports competitions, world-class musical performances and a festival village.
