The 2017 event will again feature action sports competitions, world-class musical performances and a festival village.
ESPN, the leading action sports content provider and creator of the X Games, in collaboration with Norway’s TV2 and local organizer SAHR Concepts, have reached an agreement to bring X Games back to Norway for a second consecutive year. The event will take place at the Hafjell ski resort March 8-11, 2017.
The World of X Games series on ABC will feature a heavy lineup of weekly action sports content throughout the month of November, beginning with highlights from the Freestyle Motocross competitions at the Monster Energy High Roller event. November also features athlete-focused documentaries chronicling the seasons of skateboarder Alec Majerus and snowboarder Mark McMorris. Fan-favorite Peace Park returns for its fifth installment and the Powell Peralta team resurrects the Animal Chin ramp for the first time in 30 years.
The X Games Aspen competition with illustrators and designers vying for the opportunity to design the official commemorative poster to be sold onsite at Buttermilk Mountain. The X Games Minneapolis competition is slated to begin spring 2017, and will challenge illustrators and designers to create original artwork and imagery for a limited-edition skatedeck. X Games is launching a bi-annual contest, World of X Games Presents ZOOM, celebrating the best in action sports photography. Each month, XGames.com will select 10 of the best photos submitted by photographers in the BMX, skateboard, motocross, freeski, snowboard, surf and mountain bike worlds, and display them in a curated digital ZOOM gallery online.
