Eleven Games Set for 10th Annual GEICO ESPN High School Football Showcase

Game Telecasts Slated for ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU

ESPN, in conjunction with Paragon Marketing Group, will air 10 consecutive weeks of high school action for the 10th annual GEICO ESPN High School Football Showcase. Eleven games in this year’s 2012 line-up have been scheduled across ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU.

The schedule will kick off Friday, Aug. 31 at 11:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU with an out of state game between 2011 Florida 6A Runner-Up Miami Central at Georgia 5A State Champion Grayson.  The scheduled 2012 Showcase games will include 22 teams in 11 games from nine states. When added to the 13 ESPN High School Kickoff Weekend games previously announced, ESPN is set to feature high schools from a total of 21 states.

The current 2012 Showcase schedule includes six teams that finished as 2011 State Champions: Grayson (Ga.), Manatee (Fla.), Skyline (Wash.), Don Bosco (N.J.), Narbonne (Calif.), and Ensworth (Tenn.), three quarterbacks in this year’s Elite 11 and 13 ESPNU 150 ranked players, including:


  • Grayson DE: Robert Nkemdiche (No. 1 overall)
  • Milton DE: Carl Lawson (No. 5 overall)
  • Sealy WR: Ricky Seals-Jones (No. 10 overall)
  • Skyline QB: Max Browne (No. 18 overall; Elite 11)
  • Glades Day RB: Kelvin Taylor (No. 22 overall)
  • St. Thomas Aquinas DT: Joey Bosa (No. 45 overall)
  • Yulee ATH: Derrick Henry (No. 48 overall)
  • Brentwood Academy CB: Jalen Ramsey (No. 56 overall)
  • Walton RB: Tyren Jones (No. 76 overall)
  • Cottonwood QB: Cooper Bateman (No. 90 overall; Elite 11)
  • St. Pius X QB: Kohl Stewart (No. 91 overall)
  • Camden County QB: Brice Ramsey (No. 93 overall; Elite 11)
  • Don Bosco DE: Alquadin Muhammad (No. 147 overall)
