ESPN Soccer Update: SporstCenter to Present First Pick of 2013 MLS SuperDraft Live

Four-Hour SuperDraft on ESPN3 and ESPNFC

The first overall selection in Major League Soccer’s 2013 SuperDraft will be shown live on SportsCenter on Thursday, Jan. 17, beginning at 12 p.m. ET, marking the first time the league’s player-selection process will be featured live on the ESPN flagship program.  The rest of the MLS SuperDraft (12 – 4 p.m.) will be carried live on ESPN3 and ESPNFC, the company’s sole soccer destination, from the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

ESPN’s MLS soccer play-by-play voice Adrian Healey, analysts Taylor Twellman and Alexi Lalas, and reporter Mónica González will offer live commentary from the SuperDraft. 

In addition, ESPNFC.com MLS and U.S. Men’s National Team reporter Jeff Carlisle will provide the site’s news and information coverage from Indianapolis with special previews and blogs, “Cover it Live” during the first round, a profile of the No.1 pick and more.

Premier League:  Manchester City vs. Fulham Saturday on ESPN and WatchESPN

ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPN Deportes and WatchESPN will present live the Barclays Premier League match on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 9:55 a.m. ET – Premier League champions Manchester City vs. Fulham FC, live from Etihad Stadium in Manchester. 

Manchester City’s active roster features some of the best players in Europe such as Spain’s David Silva, Argentina’s Sergio Argüero, Carlos Tévez and Pablo Zabaleta, France midfielder Samir Nasri and defender Gaël Clichy, Brazil’s Douglas Maicon, Italy’s Mario Balotelli, and captained by Belgian central defender Vincent Kompany.

Fulham FC, one of Premier League’s six London-based football clubs, has Mali national team midfielder Mahamadou Diarra, Bulgaria’s Dimitar Berbatov, Republic of Ireland’s Damien Duff, Greek midfielder Georgios “Giorgos” Karagounis, and Colombian Hugo Rodallega Martínez.

ESPN lead soccer play-by-play commentator Ian Darke and analyst Steve McManaman, a Liverpool FC legend and former England international, will provide match commentaries.
