ESPN THE MAGAZINE’S “NEXT” EVENT MARCHES INTO THE BIG EASY ON FEBRUARY 1

Celebrity Correspondent Kelly Rowland Takes Over @ESPNMag

ESPN The Magazine is hosting its ninth annual NEXT EVENT on Friday, February 1, in New Orleans, La. to celebrate its annual NEXT issue, which recognizes an elite group of emerging athletes to watch in the year ahead. The Magazine will take over Tad Gormley Stadium in City Park, a few miles from downtown New Orleans and the legendary Bourbon Street, creating a one of a kind experience within a 50,000 square foot tent. Guests will walk a 40 foot red carpet leading into a lighting and video extravaganza which will come alive with décor in reds, blacks, silvers and grays.    

The Magazine’s NEXT Event will feature a one of a kind live special performance by multi-platinum, Grammy Award Winning artist CeeLo Green with Goodie Mob along with music by DJ D-Nice. In addition to athletes, musicians, VIPS and celebrities Grammy Award Winning artist Kelly Rowland will be on hand as the celebrity social media ambassador taking over the @ESPNMag Twitter handle to give an inside look on the fashion and celebrity happenings from NEXT. The invite only party will showcase what’s NEXT in sports, technology, lifestyle, and, of course, what’s NEXT from ESPN. ESPN The Magazine’s NEXT Event sponsors include: Bud Light, Coke Zero, Dunkin’ Donuts, Edible Arrangements, GEICO, HBO’s “Game of Thrones”, Mercedes-Benz, Microsoft Windows 8, Old Spice, Pringles and Symantec.

Guests will be able to enjoy a night of music, surprises and experiences as well as specially-designed cocktails and beverages from Bud Light including Bud Light Lime and Bud Light Platinum; snap photos in the Coke Zero “Social Foto” Booth which will appear on flat screens throughout the event; enjoy hot beverages and munchkins from a mobile Dunkin’ Donuts truck; explore the Old Spice “Believe in Your Smelf Lounge/Trophy Room” which will include sports trophies hosted by a special guest athlete; get behind the wheel of the racing simulator from Mercedes-Benz and check out their new rides including the G Wagon, SLS GT and concept style coupe – the CLA. Mercedes-Benz is also providing transportation to the party for select guests with a fleet of GL-Classes and S-Classes. In addition, attendees have the opportunity to demo the new Windows 8 in “The Windows View Lounge”; unleash their inner fantasy in HBO’s Game of Thrones social studio and have a photo taken on the infamous “Throne” and preview season 3. Also on site for guests to enjoy are elaborate fruit displays from Edible Arrangements, the Pringles’ “Bursting with Flavor” food bar, and tips on Norton-branded software protection from the experts at Symantec. To end the night A Safe Ride Home Presented by GEICO will provide guests with information on local taxi companies and allow guests to leave their cars parked safely at the lot to be picked up the next day.

ESPN NEXT is a one of a kind evening from ESPN which has become not only a Super Bowl Weekend legend but the hottest invite of the weekend.
