The former soccer player will take part on the analysis table of Futbol Picante and Los Capitanes
Former Mexican soccer star Luis Roberto Alvez joins ESPN Deportes’ roster of experts. Alvaez, better known as “Zague,” makes his debut on the network this Sunday, January 13th on Futbol Picante at 9 p.m. ET. Zague, who played for the Mexican national team, will also serve as an analyst on Los Capitanes.
“I am proud to have the opportunity to become part of this great team of professionals that is ESPN Deportes,” said Zague. “Being part of Futbol Picante and Los Capitanes fills me with joy since it will give me the chance of contributing my experience as a professional soccer player as well as my in-depth knowledge of the sport so that the audience can gain more knowledge about the thrilling sport that is soccer.”
About Luis Roberto Alvez, Zague
Zague is a former soccer player of Mexican-Brazilian nationality. He made his professional soccer debut in Brazil as a member of the Corinthians in 1985. From there, he went on to play for the America, Atlante and Necaxa organizations in Mexico.
Additionally, Zague was part of the Mexican national team. He represented the country during the 1994 World Cup. He also helped the team place second during the 1993 Copa America and bring home the championships during the 1997 Gold Cup and USA Cup.
