ESPN is hosting its tenth annual Super Bowl party, rebranded ESPN THE PARTY, on Friday, January 31, in New York City. In conjunction with the release of ESPN The Magazine’s MUSIC issue, the event will celebrate the love affair between sports and music. ESPN THE PARTY will feature live special performances by 2014 Grammy Award Nominees Robin Thicke and Kendrick Lamar along with music by Multiple Grammy Award Winner Jermaine Dupri. Guests can follow the action all night at ESPN’s Microsite www.espntheparty.com, @ESPNMag, and use the hashtag #ESPNTHEPARTY to chat with other fans as well as athletes, celebs, brands, and other VIPs in the house.

ESPN will take over Lower Manhattan’s Pier 36/Basketball City–just a few miles from MetLife Stadium, host of Super Bowl 48 — to create their signature annual Super Bowl experience. Guests will mingle with athletes, celebrities, and ESPN talent in our hometown of NYC for a uniquely ESPN experience. “New York State of Mind” themed décor will include a 40 foot red carpet from Shaw Floors, bright lights, skyscrapers and a starry skyline, welcoming our guests to our home and making it feel as though they have stepped onto ESPN’s pages and screens

The invite-only party will showcase cutting-edge interactive activations from sponsors: Armitron Watches, Axe, Carhartt, Charmin, Coke Zero, Coors Light, Diageo, Dunkin’ Donuts, Mercedes-Benz, Met-Rx, Pringles, & History Channel’s “Vikings”, along with partner Shaw Floors.

Guests will enjoy a New York night filled with music, surprises and experiences, including beverages from Coors Light and Diageo, who will introduce a new brand in their portfolio, a Coke Zero social cocktail experience, hot coffee and donuts from a Dunkin’ Donuts truck, and check out new rides from Mercedes-Benz; Carhartt will keep guests warm as they exit the event with winter hats. Attendees can board a huge replica of the “Vikings” ship from the History Channel’s “Vikings”, snack on brand-new Pringles Harvest Tortilla chips, sample protein-packed Met-Rx products, and check out elegant displays of Armitron Watches. In addition, P&G brand Charmin will provide some luxury and comfort to the venue facilities. ESPN has also secured a partnership with Uber to allow easy transportation for guests at a discounted rate for both new and existing customers.
