The first-of-its-kind collection, designed exclusively by George Zimmer, founder of the online men’s suit and tuxedo rental company Generation Tux, features tailored garments, jackets and pants, each showcasing the teams’ colors and inspired designs. Details on each of the suits include:
- Clemson University: The tuxedo’s classy orange blazer and tiger-print tie will make Clemson fans the number one seed of any New Year’s Eve party.
- University of Alabama: A classic Alabama houndstooth tuxedo, expertly crafted from the finest wool around and stylishly paired with a signature Crimson tie.
- Michigan State University: This sporty Spartan tuxedo features stylish epaulettes that will pair well with any Michigan State Spartan helmet.
- University of Oklahoma: This fine wool tuxedo features satin lapels, wagon wheel button and a suede vest for the most stylish of Sooners.
“New Year’s Eve is one of the most festive occasions of the year – and one that certainly calls for a tux,” said Zimmer. “With this collection, we’re making sure guys can now choose to show off their team spirit in unprecedented style.”
Emeka Ofodile, senior director of marketing at ESPN, added, “The goal in working with Zimmer was to connect the College Football Playoff to iconic New Year’s Eve traditions by helping fans to dress in style for football. With the ‘New Year’s Eve Collection,’ we want to capture the passion fans have for their school and communicate that New Year’s will officially never be the same with the College Football Playoff.”
The “New Year’s Eve” collection is an extension of ESPN’s “Who’s In?” campaign. “Who’s In?” was created in collaboration with creative agency Wieden + Kennedy New York. Additional spots as well as digital, print and social elements will run through the crowning of the National Champion in January 2016.
