ESPN’s 2016 Spring Training Schedule Begins March 17 with Chicago Cubs in Prime Time

Spring Training baseball returns to ESPN this week. The six-game schedule begins Thursday, March 17 with Jayson Heyward and the 2015 NLDS Champion Chicago Cubs against Paul Goldschmidt and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

ESPN’s Spring Training schedule features multiple appearances by the Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals.

The new Sunday Night Baseball team – play-by-play commentator Dan Shulman, analysts Jessica Mendoza and Aaron Boone, and reporter Buster Olney make their debut on March 21 when David Ortiz and the Boston Red Sox take on Matt Holiday and the St. Louis Cardinals. They will also be calling the March 24 prime-time game between the Cubs and the San Francisco Giants.

On Tuesday, March 22, ESPN and ESPN Deportes will televise the first Major League Baseball game from Cuba since 1999 as the Tampa Bay Rays play the Cuban National Team. Commentators Karl Ravech, Eduardo Perez, Doug Glanville, Pedro Gomez and Tim Kurkjian will call the action on ESPN.

Baseball Tonight – ESPN The Magazine – MLB Preview Show will air on Thursday, March 17 at 10 p.m. ET following the Diamondbacks and Cubs on ESPN. MLB analysts Karl Ravech, Curt Schilling, Tim Kurkjian, and ESPN The Magazine writers Tim Keown and Peter Keating will discuss the youth movement in baseball.
