This year, ESPN Chicago 1000 hosted the 12th Annual Fantasy Draft Convention and Championship at the biggest venue in the event’s 12-year history – Joe’s Live – in Rosemont, Ill., Saturday, Aug. 19. The event was hosted by ESPN Chicago 1000’s David Kaplan and included special guests including ESPN’s Field Yates and Stephania Bell, former Chicago Bears defense tackle Steve “Mongo” McMichael and ESPN Chicago 1000 colleagues Tom Waddle, Marc Silverman, Carmen DeFalco, John Jurkovic and Jonathan Hood. The event had 49 leagues in total between on-site and on-line drafting.

Elena Angelos, marketing director of ESPN Chicago 1000, stated, “We had a wonderful opportunity to move to a new venue for our Fantasy Football Convention this year. The event created more Fantasy fan engagement around the Chicagoland area. Fans were listening so intently to the Waddle & Silvy podcast, which demonstrated how significant our local talent are to the success of the event. Overall, we are thrilled to continue this tradition and look forward to another successful event in 2018.”

The Fantasy Draft Convention featured an exclusive Waddle & Silvy podcast featuring Barstool Big Cat and new live music from the Chicago Six, featuring the 1985 Chicago Bears Super Bowl Champions McMichael, Dan Hampton and Otis Wilson.
