Play4Kay, in its 11th year on ESPN networks, will feature ten top-ranked teams on Sunday, Feb. 19, and Monday, Feb. 20, on ESPN2 and ESPNU.
It’s been a dream of mine to work here at ESPN, and here I am! I joined the College Sports PR team in March 2016. Hailing from the great Garden State, I graduated from Seton Hall University (Go Pirates!) with a degree in Sport Management, where I was a triple threat on the basketball court—I sang the National Anthem at games, was a member of the Seton Hall Sapphires Dance Team and served as a student reporter for Pirate Sports Network. Prior to ESPN, I served as a Public Relations Associate for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
The second week of the college lacrosse is underway, with Georgetown facing No. 4 Notre Dame at The Star in Frisco, Texas, Saturday, Feb. 18 (2 p.m. ET, ESPNU). A women’s game between No. 18 Stanford and No. 8 Duke will follow at 5 p.m. on ESPN3 from The Star. A former standout at Georgetown, Sheehan Stanwick-Burch will serve as an analyst and reporter, joining Quint Kessenich and Paul Carcaterra for both games.
UConn’s 100th-Consecutive Win is Highest-Rated College Basketball Game on ESPN2 This Season; Highest Women’s College Basketball Regular-Season Overnight Since 2010
Top ranked UConn’s 66-55 milestone 100th-consecutive victory over No. 6 South Carolina on Monday, Feb. 13 (9 p.m. ET, ESPN2), delivered a 0.9 overnight rating, marking the highest-rated college basketball game on ESPN2 this season among men’s and women’s telecasts, and the highest-rated women’s college basketball regular-season game since 2010.
Women’s College Basketball: Schedule Highlights Include Play4Kay and Big Monday Games; Fourteen Ranked Teams
This week’s women’s college basketball schedule features 14 ranked teams and includes Play4Kay games on ESPN2 and ESPNU, honoring late head coach Kay Yow and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
ESPN’s Big Monday presented by eBay will be a little bit bigger this Monday when top-ranked UConn faces No. 6 South Carolina (9 p.m. ET, ESPN2) from Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn.
Women’s College Basketball: Sunday’s Slate Features Rivalry Week Matchups; UConn Could Reach 100 Consecutive Wins on Big Monday
UConn continues to be the top-ranked women’s college basketball team this season, and will chase a milestone that no other team has ever reached—100 consecutive wins.
The 2017 ESPNU Signing Day Special, in its 12th year, provided coverage for over 11 consecutive hours on ESPNU and ESPN2, and featured 11 player announcements, reports from 16 different campuses, interviews with the No. 1 overall recruit Trey Smith (Tennessee), in-studio interviews with No. 136 Tommy DeVito (Syracuse), No. 143 Fred Hansard (Penn State), A.J. Dillon (Boston College), and more than 30 interviews with coaches.
ESPN’s coverage of the 2017 men’s college lacrosse season includes more than 25 televised games, beginning Tuesday, Feb. 7, when No. 11 Navy takes on No. 9 Johns Hopkins (5 p.m. ET, ESPNU). In addition to regular season games, ESPNU will be the home of four conference championships, including the ACC, America East, Ivy League and MAAC, as well as the entire NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship. Every matchup on the slate features a ranked team.
