Mark Teixeira, a World Series Champion and three-time All-Star first baseman, has joined ESPN as a Major League Baseball analyst. In the multi-year agreement, Teixeira will regularly contribute to ESPN’s MLB studio coverage, SportsCenter and additional ESPN platforms, including ESPN Radio. The 14-year MLB veteran is expected to being during ESPN’s 2017 Spring Training coverage.

ESPN announced today its game selection for the September 4 edition of Sunday Night Baseball presented by Taco Bell: the National League East-leading Washington Nationals and Bryce Harper will visit the second place New York Mets and Yoenis Cespedes.
The Seattle Mariners will return to ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball presented by Taco Bell for the first time since 2004 as they visit the National League Central-leading Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field on July 31, at 8 p.m. ET. The Mariners – led by MLB All-Star Robinson Cano – will face a star-studded Cubs team, highlighted by their All-Star infield of Anthony Rizzo, Ben Zobrist, Addison Russell and Kris Bryant. The Mariners last appeared on Sunday Night Baseball, July 6, 2004 vs. the Chicago White Sox.
ESPN announced today its game selection for the July 24 edition of Sunday Night Baseball presented by Taco Bell – Los Angeles Dodgers at St. Louis Cardinals – at 8 p.m. ET. It will mark the sixth Sunday Night Baseball appearance of the season for the Dodgers and the fourth Sunday Night Baseball appearance of the season for the Cardinals. The two clubs squared off on the May 15 edition of Sunday Night Baseball.
ESPN announced today it has made its Major League Baseball game selections for the April 18 edition of Monday Night Baseball presented by USAA and for the April 20 edition of Wednesday Night Baseball presented by Hankook Tire. Both games will be full national telecasts – available in all television territories.
ESPN’s American League Wild Card Game telecast presented by Hankook Tires – the Houston Astros defeated the New York Yankees 3-0 – delivered the largest MLB Wild Card Game audience ever, according to Fast Nationals from Nielsen. The telecast averaged 7,604,000 viewers (P2+), and peaked with 8,600,000 viewers from 10:30-11 p.m. ET. It was ESPN’s most-watched MLB game since 2003.

The Aug. 16 edition of ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball presented by Taco Bell – the Kansas City Royals defeated the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 4-3 in an extra innings thriller – generated the best rating ever for a regular-season Major League Baseball telecast on ESPN in the Kansas City market. According to Nielsen, the telecast delivered a 19.8 rating, which also makes it the highest-rated, regular-season pro sports or college sports game telecast on ESPN in the Kansas City market.
