ESPN’s Award-Winning News Magazine E:60 Airs Tonight at 8 P.M. on ESPN2 with Steph Curry
contact: [email protected]
Longshot (The Journey of Steph Curry) (Trailer)
For the Golden State Warriors’ superstar Steph Curry, shooting a basketball is a family tradition. His father, Dell Curry, was a star at Virginia Tech and a 16-year NBA veteran. Steph wanted nothing more than to emulate his father and make a name for himself in the NBA. After a stellar high school career, he was told he was too small and slow to play at Virginia Tech. Today, he is in the discussion for most valuable player in the NBA and one of the most recognizable faces in the game.  E:60’s Jeffri Chadiha tells the story of the long shot who, through determination, became the NBA’s best shooter.

In My Shoes (Trailer)
Shoes. They are a basketball player’s cherished tool, part of their persona and identity, and on a very basic level a provider of comfort and support. But for fourteen-year-old Jack Gallagher of Erie, Pa., one pair of basketball shoes has taken on a much deeper meaning. In November 2013, Jack’s mother, Lisa, bought him a pair of Jordan CP3 sneakers in honor of his favorite NBA player, Chris Paul of the LA Clippers. Tragically, this would be the last gift Jack would ever get from his mother.  These shoes have now taken the concepts of comfort and support to a whole new level, even forging a bond with Chris Paul. But most importantly, these shoes provide a way to both remember and move forward. E:60’s Lisa Salters reports.

Liam the Fist Bump Kid (Trailer)
In November 2014, a TV camera at a Bruins home game innocently captured an excited little boy during pre-game warm-ups. Eight-year-old Liam Fitzgerald, sitting on the edge of the rink in full Bruins gear, fist-bumped the entire team as they left the ice. That simple moment became something so much bigger, when the next day the video clip landed on YouTube and Liam, was a global sensation. And as E:60’s Tom Rinaldi discovers, behind Liam’s headline-grabbing moment is the story of an extraordinary little boy who has overcome seemingly insurmountable hurdles to become the biggest member of the Bruin family.
