ESPN’s exclusive coverage of The Championships, Wimbledon continues will all-day coverage from London totaling 140 hours on TV and 1,500 on ESPN3 and streaming live on the ESPN App with action from all 15 televised courts.  The action Thursday, July 6, will include seven-time champ Roger Federer, two-time champ Novak Djokovic, Americans John Isner and Jack Sock in the Gentlemen’s draw.  The Ladies in action will include top-seed Angelique Kerber, No. 3 Karolina Pliskova, No. 5 Caroline Wozniacki and American No. 24 Coco Vandeweghe.

The action will climax with the Ladies’ Championship and the Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Doubles Championships on ESPN on Saturday, July 15, and the Gentlemen’s Championship on Sunday, July 16, followed by the Mixed Doubles Championship.  The schedule through the second Monday, when CrossCourt Coverage begins:

World of X Games – X Games Minneapolis Preview Show

On Saturday, July 8, World of X Games on ABC will feature a look forward at all of the content to come from the inaugural X Games Minneapolis, July 13 – 16. The X Games Minneapolis Preview Show will air July 8 at 3 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT.

The show will provide fans a look ahead to all the action sports competitions, festival and musical performances leading into the inaugural Minneapolis event. X Games host Jack Mitrani will highlight this year’s athletes to watch, as well as preview musical performances by A Day to Remember, Flume and Atmosphere.

ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball Features Cleveland Indians Hosting Detroit Tigers;
2017 T-Mobile Home Run Derby on July 10 Exclusively on ESPN

On the July 9 edition on ESPN’s exclusive, full-national Sunday Night Baseball telecast presented by Taco Bell the current American League Central-leading Cleveland Indians and Francisco Lindor host the Detroit Tigers and Miguel Cabrera. Dave Flemming will have the call with analysts David Ross and Aaron Boone and reporter Buster Olney at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN. Karl Ravech and Tim Kurkjian will lead into the matchup on Baseball Tonight: Sunday Night Countdown presented by Chevrolet from Progressive Field in Cleveland at 7 p.m. on ESPN.

Adam Amin and Chris Singleton will have the call of Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN Radio. The duo will also be in the ESPN Radio booth when the two teams meet Saturday, July 8 with coverage starting at 6 p.m.

ESPN’s Wednesday Night Baseball presented by Hankook Tire tonight, July 5, will feature the New York Mets and Yoenis Céspedes visiting the Washington Nationals and Bryce Harper as the Nationals look to increase their lead in the National League East. Jon Sciambi and analyst Rick Sutcliffe will have the call at 7 p.m. on ESPN. The telecast will be subject to blackout restrictions in the New York market.

On Saturday, July 8, ESPN.com and ESPNDeportes.com will post an interview with ESPN’s Marly Rivera and Texas Rangers Carlos Gomez in English and Spanish, as part of the season-long, cross-platform, Béisbol Experience initiative. Last week, Rivera spoke with Minnesota Twins Miguel Sanó. See the full interview in English and Spanish.

On July 10, ESPN will exclusively televise the 2017 T-Mobile Home Run Derby from Marlins Park in Miami with Marlins slugger and reigning T-Mobile Home Run Derby Champion Giancarlo Stanton, Yankees Aaron Judge and other Major League Baseball stars. Ravech will be the voice of ESPN’s coverage alongside analysts Jessica Mendoza and Mark Teixeira and reporter Buster Olney. Sciambi and Singleton will have the call on ESPN Radio.

ESPN2 will offer a Spanish-language simulcast of the T-Mobile Home Run Derby with ESPN Deportes’ Ernesto Jerez, analyst Eduardo Pérez, reporters Pedro Gomez and Marly Rivera and guest reporter and former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Ismael Valdez.

Baseball Tonight will air live from Marlins Park for two shows at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on July 10. In addition, Intentional Talk will be on site at Marlins Park for a live show from 5-6 p.m. and SportsCenter on the Road powered by Ford will be on site providing frequent updates leading into the T-Mobile Home Run Derby.

The 2017 All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game will also air on ESPN immediately following the T-Mobile Home Run Derby with Adnan Virk and Pérez on the call.

MLB Intentional Talk will air Wednesday-Friday this week on ESPN2 from 4-5 p.m. with Chris Rose and 2004 World Series Champion Kevin Millar.

ESPN’s The Jump Highlights the 2016-17 NBA Season and Discusses NBA Summer League with Specials This Week

On Friday, July 7, The Jump — ESPN’s daily NBA studio show — will originate from Las Vegas for the NBA: The Jump at Las Vegas Summer League. Rachel Nichols will host the show with ESPN NBA Insider Ramona Shelburne at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN. The show will precede the L.A. Clippers taking on the Los Angeles Lakers in NBA Summer League action on ESPN. Nichols will join ESPN NBA analysts Amin Elhassan and Byron Scott the following day on ESPN at 8 p.m. to lead into the Boston Celtics taking on the Lakers from Las Vegas at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN. Additional special guests expected to join each show. ESPN’s full 2017 NBA Summer League coverage schedule will be announced later this week.

The Jump: Sounds of the Season will re-air on Wednesday this week at 3 p.m. on ESPN2 recapping the 2016-17 NBA season. The special episode features a compilation of Nichols’ sit-down interviews with players across the NBA.

Thursday and Friday, The Jump will discuss all the free agency action and more from the Los Angeles studio at 3 p.m. on ESPN2. Thursday, Elhassan will host the show with Shelburne and McMenamin. Elhassan will return to host Friday’s show with McMenamin.

The Basketball Tournament South and Northeast Regionals on ESPN3 and the ESPN App

Beginning Saturday, July 8, ESPN networks will air all 63 games of the 2017 edition of The Basketball Tournament (TBT), the 64-team, single-elimination 5-on-5 tournament where top professional, college alumni, and international basketball players compete for a winner-take-all $2 million prize. The fourth annual TBT begins July 8-9 with the South and Northeast regional competitions at Queens University in Charlotte, N.C. and Philadelphia University, respectively. The West (at Desert Oasis in Las Vegas) and Midwest (at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.) events are July 15-16. All games the next two weekends will air on ESPN3 and the ESPN app. TBT bracket/schedule. ESPN commentators for this weekend’s regionals include play-by-play voices Matt Martucci and Eric Duick with analyst Joe Lunardi in Philadelphia, and the play-by-play/analyst duos of Jeff Fischel-Jobey Thomas and Brock Bowling-Stan Lewter in Charlotte. In 2016, 63 recent NBA players competed, and 20 teams were composed of alumni from Division I programs including Villanova, Gonzaga, Kentucky, Syracuse, Michigan State, and Memphis. Overseas Elite, a team put together by a CAA agent consisting of his clients, won for the second year in a row. The semifinals and championship will be held in Baltimore on August 1-3. In all, ESPN will carry up to 150 live hours of TBT action across its networks, with 30 live hours on ESPN or ESPN2.

Jon Stewart Joins Hannah Storm for SportsCenter Warrior Games Special

Jon Stewart, former host of The Daily Show, will team with Hannah Storm to host a special edition of SportsCenter from the Warrior Games in Chicago on Friday, July 7. The one-hour program will air live from the United Center at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN. Storm and Stewart also will anchor live segments in the 6 p.m. SportsCenter and Stewart will do a live interview from the site in the 11 p.m. hour. Reporter Michele Steele will have segments from the Games in the morning editions of SportsCenter earlier that day. Stewart will do a social “takeover” of the ESPN Instagram account, providing video of athletes, behind-the-scenes photos and an inside look from the Games. The 2017 Department of Defense Warrior Games, a multi-sport event for wounded, injured or ill service personnel and veterans, began June 30 and concludes July 8.

ESPN.com on-site reporters will provide daily event results and digital text features. Also, ESPN.com will have a “Meet the Athlete” social rollout on ESPN’s Instagram account where athletes can tell their story to the fans. Additionally, the ESPN Instagram account will display daily the “Image of the Night”.

In honor of the Warrior Games, and the Chicago veterans’ community, ESPN corporate citizenship and ESPN1000 Chicago will team with Up2Us Sports to host an event for Warrior Games athletes and their families with comedian Frank Caliendo on Thursday, July 6.  ESPN Chicago 1000 will broadcast live from the United Center on Friday, July 7, alongside SportsCenter. Additionally, vignettes will air on the station throughout the Warrior Games that spotlight several competitors from the local Chicago area.


SC Featured Tells Story of Selfless Gesture by Olympic Medalist

At last year’s Olympic Games in Rio, Poland’s Piotr Malachowski won a silver medal in discus. Later, in an incredibly selfless gesture, he auctioned off the medal to help pay for eye cancer treatment for a three-year-old boy. The story will be Sunday’s SC Featured, “From Silver to Gold,” in the 10 a.m. ET edition of SportsCenter on July 9, and will re-air in other editions of the program throughout the day.


Tony Kornheiser to be Inducted in D.C. Sports Hall of Fame

Pardon the Interruption host Tony Kornheiser, the former Washington Post sports columnist and longtime D.C. sports radio host, will be inducted in the Washington D.C. Sports Hall of Fame this weekend. Kornheiser will be honored Sunday, July 9, in a pre-game ceremony before the Washington Nationals game at Nationals Park. Other members of the Hall of Fame’s class of 2017 include five-time Olympic swimming gold medalist Katie Ledecky and former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue, among other local legends.
