Vice President, Category Partnerships

Mary Sheehan is vice president of Category Partnerships at ESPN. In her role, she oversees a team developing proprietary sales strategies by category to grow revenue.  By partnering across the company’s Sales and Marketing teams, her group develops, executes and tracks advertisers’ campaigns in order to maximize the impact of clients’ investment and experience with ESPN.

An 11-year veteran of ESPN, Sheehan is proven leader with keen insights on the industry. In addition to planning and implementing all of ESPN’s TV, radio, online and mobile outlets along with more than 60 ESPN related media assets; Sheehan works with media agencies to develop off-channel plans in support of promotional priorities across all ESPN platforms. She also spearheads all cross-media research for ESPN’s media plans.

Sheehan joined ESPN in September 2005 as the director of media strategy, where she focused on the planning and execution of media plans for ESPN branded properties from programming to products. Prior to ESPN, she was at Pfizer working on pharmaceutical brands such as Celebrex.

She began her career at Ogilvy & Mather and then headed to MediaVest to work on P&G, Burger King and represent MediaVest in San Francisco, Calif.   After returning from San Francisco, she joined Wieden + Kennedy New York, where ESPN was her primary client.
