FiveThirtyEight has debuted the first episode of The Lab, a new weekly NBA podcast hosted by Neil Paine (general editor and senior sportswriter), Kyle Wagner (senior sportswriter) and Chris Herring (senior sportswriter).
Perry Bacon Jr. joins FiveThirtyEight as a senior political writer. Working alongside the site’s politics team, Bacon will focus on covering the Trump administration and its effects, in Washington and in the country at large.
With the nominees for the 89th Oscars finally revealed, today FiveThirtyEight debuts its annual Oscar Tracker, which will forecast this year’s winners in the top eight categories. The presentation will air live on ABC on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. ET.

FiveThirtyEight broke new records across all metrics during the last month of the U.S. Presidential Election race: According to comScore, in October readers visited the site more than 92 million times, spending a record of 254 million minutes with the content, up more than 11 times YOY.
Throughout the day on Tuesday, November 8, users turned to FiveThirtyEight for real-time analysis and updates of the 2016 Presidential Election, especially as the polls closed throughout the evening. More than 16.5 million unique users – an all-time record – visited the site, spending more than 209 million minutes with the content.
As the 2016 U.S. presidential election reaches its final days, today FiveThirtyEight outlines its Election Day coverage for Tuesday, Nov. 8, which will formally begin at about 9 a.m. ET and continue until the next president is decided.
Driven by this year’s U.S. Presidential Election and the Presidential debates, FiveThirtyEight continues to break new records across all metrics: According to comScore, the month of September was the highest in engagement, with readers spending a record of more than 94 million minutes on the site.
FiveThirtyEight is launching the first episode of “Ahead of Their Time,” a new limited mini-series of sports audio documentaries about the athletes and coaches who weren’t appreciated in their era, but who, when examined through the lens of modern analytics, can be better appreciated.
Last night’s inaugural 2016 Presidential Debate marked not only an unprecedented occasion to viewers around the country but also to FiveThirtyEight: The site reached its all-time single day record traffic across all metrics during the event, including 8.2 million minutes and an average minute audience of 5,720, according to Adobe Analytics.
