New Balance Sponsored Games Select 2012 Roster

ESPN3 will air four games from the 26th Annual Area Code Baseball Games on Tuesday, Aug. 7 featuring the top 232 high school baseball players live from Blair Field in Long Beach, Calif. Nearly 3,000 high school baseball players applied to the regional events held in multiple cities nationwide. The select 232 will showcase their abilities on eight regional teams August 5-10.

Area Code Baseball offers the athletes an opportunity to train like major league athletes and play in a competitive atmosphere. For some, this will be a precursor to careers as professional baseball players. The Games have produced more than 500 Major Leaguers including alumni such as Dustin Pedroia, Andre Ethier, Albert Pujols, Adrian Gonzalez and Josh Beckett.

Elite prospects play on eight Major League Baseball teams that partner with Area Code Baseball to represent a specific part of the country: the Milwaukee Brewers (Southern California); Oakland Athletics (Northern California); Kansas City Royals (Pacific Northwest); Cincinnati Reds (Four Corners and Hawaii); Chicago White Sox (Midwest); Texas Rangers (Texas and Louisiana); New York Yankees (Northeast); and the Washington Nationals (Southeast and Virginia).
