Major League Baseball on ESPN Deportes

Vinny Castilla and Alex Cora join Beisbol Esta Noche; Ozzie Guillen returns as analyst; More than 90 regular season games across ESPN Deportes, ESPN Deportes+ and ESPN Deportes Radio

The 2015 Major League Baseball (MLB) season kicks off on ESPN Deportes with Sunday’s Opening Night game between the St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs Apr. 5 at 8:00 p.m. ET, preceded by Beisbol Esta Noche at 7:30 p.m. On Opening Day (Apr. 6), ESPN Deportes will telecast the quadruple header starting with Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Through the regular season, the network will carry more than 90 games: 57 games live on Television and WatchESPN, and 36 live games on ESPNDeportes+. ESPN Deportes Radio will broadcast all Sunday Night Baseball games as well as the post-season games, including the Divisional, Championship and World Series.

The ESPN Deportes team of MLB experts will include a line-up of four former baseball players who will serve as analysts for Beisbol Esta Noche: returning to the network’s screens Ozzie Guillen and Candy Maldonado, and debuting this season (on ESPN Deportes) Alex Cora and Vinny Castilla.

ESPN Deportes and ESPN Deportes+

  • Beisbol Esta Noche opens the season celebrating its 10th Throughout the season, returning host and baseball expert Carolina Guillen will be joined by a rotating line-up of former MLB stars analysts: Candy Maldonado, Alex Cora and Vinny Castilla. Viewers can tune-in every Sunday during the regular season at 7:30 p.m. ET.
  • ESPN Deporteswill air 25 regular-season games every Sunday for Sunday Night Baseball at 8 p.m. ET and at least 25 Monday and/or Wednesday night games. The network will also air the Home Run Derby taking place in Cincinnati, Opening Night, Opening Day and holiday games.
  • ESPN Deportes+, the ESPN Deportes digital channel available via ESPN3, will provide exclusive Spanish-language coverage of 36 regular-season games.
  • ESPN Deportes’ MLB coverage is also available on computers, smartphones and tablets via WatchESPN.
  • Play-by-play and commentary will be provided by the network’s renowned baseball experts, including Oswaldo ‘Ozzie’ Guillen, who serves as analyst for Sunday Night Baseball and Monday Night Baseball games; Emmy Award Nominee Ernesto Jerez leading play-by-play; and analyst Luis Alfredo Alvarez. Guillermo Celis returns as the field reporter.

ESPN Deportes Radio

  • The radio network will broadcast every 2015 Sunday Night Baseball regular-season game, starting April 5 with the St. Louis Cardinals vs. the Chicago Cubs.
  • Live coverage of the games will be complemented by the leading baseball radio show, Beisbol Semanal, with Fernando Alvarez, Andrés Bermúdez, Guillermo Celis, Héctor Cruz and Arturo Marcano, every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. ET. Additional post-game analysis shows include Zona ESPN, Monday through Friday from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. ET, and ZONA SABATINA, Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. ET.

  • com will offer extensive MLB content, including special reports from big league expert Enrique Rojas. Other team-specific reports will be provided by Marly Rivera (Yankees and Mets), Adry Torres (Yankees and Mets), Carlos Nava (Rangers), Jorge Morejón (Marlins), Javier Maymí (Rays) and Rigo Cervantez (Angels and Dodgers).
  • Live coverage will be available for the MLB All Star Weekend in Cincinnati (Jul.), Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY (Jul.), Pennant races (Sept.) MLB playoffs and World Series (Oct.).
