WHAT: Riverside Middle School in New Castle, Colo. and Rifle Middle School in Rifle, Colo. will host action sports athletes and X Games personalities on Monday, January 22, to visit with students in support of Shred Hate, ESPN and X Games’ bullying prevention program that aims to reduce bullying rates in Colorado and schools across the country.

X Games will also host 300 students from seven schools in the Colorado area participating in the Shred Hate program for Shred Hate Kids’ Day on Thursday, January 25. The students will arrive at Buttermilk Mountain at noon to watch the Special Olympics Unified Slalom event, explore X Fest, have a pizza party on the VIP chalet deck and hear from several athletes on the award stage about their experiences with bullying and how the kids can join the Shred Hate movement.

Shred Hate is a bullying prevention program that is stopping bullying and encouraging kids to choose kindness. As part of the program, No Bully, a nonprofit that trains schools how to activate student compassion to eradicate bullying and cyberbullying, works directly with local school districts and cooperating schools through its innovative curriculum.

ESPN launched Shred Hate in January 2017 at X Games Aspen, Colo., and the program was able to reduce 94% of bullying cases in the Colorado schools that had the curriculum last year. Learn more at www.ShredHate.org.
