ESPN+, ESPN Combine to Carry 40 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018 Games Starting Saturday

ESPN+ and ESPN will combine to carry 40 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018 games starting this Saturday, Sept. 22, with eight games. The event will culminate with the Championship Game on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 3 p.m. on ESPN and the ESPN App. The majority of the event’s games will be available exclusively on ESPN+, the premium direct-to-consumer subscription streaming service from The Walt Disney Company Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) group and ESPN. The FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018 event will emanate from Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.

The 40-game schedule tips off with 16 games this weekend, including two Team USA games. Team USA will play Senegal on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m. and they will play China on Sunday, Sept. 23, at 1 p.m. Team USA’s roster will include three members of the WNBA Champion Seattle Storm – Sue Bird, Jewell Loyd and Breanna Stewart. Additionally, WNBA stars Brittney Griner, Nneka Ogwumike and Diana Taurasi will be in action.

Play-by-play commentator Pam Ward and analyst Kara Lawson will call the Championship Game on Sept. 30, as well as the Semifinals on Saturday, Sept. 29, and a Quarterfinal game on Fri, Sat. 28. The full schedule is below.
